Simple.  Fair.  Understandable.
How about this for a tax plan: cut most people’s taxes by half, eliminate the need to file returns, and provide the Treasury with a better way to reduce the deficit.  Sound impossible?   It’s not.  Here’s how to get it done.


A plan to eliminate the tax man and save the country from suffocating debt in four simple steps
  • Cut income- and payroll-tax rates by half, except for people earning more than $2 million a year, who will enjoy smaller cuts.
  • Eliminate all individual deductions and exemptions.
  • Impose a 12 to 15 percent value-added tax on consumption.
  • Individuals will no longer have to file tax returns with the IRS. All earned and investment income will be collected by withholding.
